Rein Room is a band unlike any other. This four piece from Newcastle Australia transcend any pre-established niche.The unique and dynamic songs of Rein Room reflect a broad range of influences. From rock through pop, electronica and even delving into the experimental this impressive outfit have developed a sound of their own. One of the features of this band is the ability of its members to function as one. Every aspect of the overall sound produced by these four lads is essential to the music and there are no loose ends.

One of the many unique things about Rein Room is it’s lead singer and keyboardist Matthew McLaren. Matthew is a blind. Since birth, music has been an emotive means of creative expression for him. His ability to perform complex, multi-layered keyboard and synthesizer parts whilst singing lead vocals routinely baffles onlookers and fans alike.

Nathan Simmonds, the bands guitarist effortlessly drifts through haunting melodic selections and subtle ambience before leaping into blistering solo’s and mammoth riffs. His influences include metal and progressive rock although his playing suggests a much wider range of experience.

Scott Stronach’s drumming is hypnotic and his pocket is as deep as the music. His thunderous grooves and diverse, musical style is influenced by many genres.

Rein Room’s bass player Ben Spelt is an ultra tight and creative musician who grooves like no other. His influences are heavily rooted in the original hip hop movement and in electronic music in general.

Beginning originally as a group of friends who would regularly get together and improvise, or ‘jam’, Rein Room have evolved and continue to do so as a band without limits.

Rein Room have played alongside such great artists as Genevieve Chadwick, Gail Page, Phil Emmanuel, Doug Parkinson, Mal Eastick, The Red Coats and Direct Influence.
